Getting Started

Getting started is simple and easy. Follow these steps to guide you along the way.

STEP 1: Click/Tap the FILE NOW button below and create an account to set up your client portal. Then click/tap Let’s Get Started.

Allow 24hrs or less for your account to be approved by your tax preparer. Once your account is approved, you will have full access to your Client Portal and can begin the next step.

STEP 2: Go to Engagement Letter. Read and accept the engagement letter. Your tax preparer will not begin to prepare your taxes until you accept the engagement letter.

STEP 3: Go to Questions. Your tax preparer will use the information to prepare your taxes and will contact you if more information is necessary. Don’t forget to include Social Security numbers for everyone listed on the return, bank account, and routing numbers.

If you have any questions for your tax preparer, tap “Added by Me” at the top to send your tax preparer a message.

STEP 4: Go to Documents. Upload your tax and other documents including:

  • Social Security cards for everyone listed on the tax return,
  • Voided check with bank account and routing numbers,
  • Various tax forms such as W-2s, 1099s, 1098s and other income documents or records of digital asset transactions,
  • Form 1095-A, Health Insurance Marketplace statement,
  • Any IRS letters citing an amount received for a certain tax deduction or credit.

Remember to report all types of income on the tax return. This is important to avoid receiving a notice or a bill from the IRS. Don’t forget to include income from:

  • Goods created and sold on online platforms,
  • Investment income,
  • Part-time or seasonal work,
  • Self-employment or other business activities,
  • Services provided through mobile apps.

To avoid any delays, you are encourage to complete these steps in 24-48 hours.

Once you’ve completed these steps, your tax preparer will begin preparing your taxes. Before we e-file your tax return, your tax preparer will send a copy of your completed return for you to review and sign.
